Following Your Children Through the House
Do you get tired of asking your child to turn off the alien lights when they leave a room? Next month begin letting your child sit down with you and write out the check for the power bill.
Show them the bill and explain the various lines and what each line indicates as far as kilowatts and the amount of usage. Make sure your child understands how much electricity your family is using every day. Break it down for them by telling them this is how much it costs us to run the television, lights, air conditioner, gaming console, etc.
This should also help them understand why you are constantly going through the house behind them turning off lights and the television set. Surely, I am not the only parent that has to follow my children through the house.
