My Analysis On “Review & Outlook: Green Scot!”
What utter rubbish. Unemployment is lower in Scotland than the UK average (and much much lower than in the USA!) and almost all this years uk jobs growth has been in Scotland. While it’s true economic growth in Scotland has historically been slower than the UK average immigration levels have been much lower too. The difference in immigration levels distorts the statistics considerably. Its easy to boost your growth statistics by flooding your economy with cheap labor. Whats more Scotland is ranked 3rd in the UK for wealth per capita, far ahead of Wales, N.Ireland and most English regions. On top of that our multi billion pound whisky industry grew by 22% this year. As for renewables the Scottish government’s policies are very sensible. Scotland is a major center for renewables research and development, in particular wave and tidal power. These technologies have the potential to be far more reliable than current renewable systems. Whats more there is a huge potential to export such technologies in the future. Do some proper research and stop talking down my country. Rant over.
